Job Title: Plant Laborer

Job Description:
* As the Plant Laborer you will perform routine preventative maintenance and be able to execute with a reasonable time frame without supervision. You will help with corrective workorders under the scope of a lead mechanic. Once qualified and considered competent, support lead mechanics with cleanup of chemical spills. You will have the ability to learn and use overhead cranes to unload trucks when needed. Perform fork truck inspections, arial platform inspections, and safety cabinet inspections. Complete ladder safety lists, fire extinguisher lists, vehicle safety checks, overhead shower safety tests, and eye wash station safety tests. Provide confined space entry and fire watch. This position will assist the power plant operations and maintenance groups where needed. You will assist, at times, in the unloading of materials and the removal of discarded or obsolete supplies and equipment from the power plant. Perform snow and ice removal. Provide training as required for entry level staff as part of staff retention and succession planning program. May be required to work some overtime. Perform custodial duties including the cleaning of floors, various building structures and power plant equipment and machinery.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience Required:
* High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE)
* A minimum three (3) years of experience required
* at least two (2) years will need to be in general maintenance
* and the third (3rd) can be in maintenance, custodial, or related field
* Valid driver's license required
Skills Needed:
* Must have basic math, reading, and communication skills
* Must be willing to learn the use of heavy floor care equipment
* Basic computer skills required
* Must be able to work well with others
Preferred:
* Mechanical aptitude
