Position Summary:The successful candidate must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and will be responsible for the outside plant maintenance and construction, underground and aerial, of CATV and Telco facilities. This is a physically demanding job that requires a willingness to work in an outside environment in all weather conditions. What's even better is you can enjoy discounted services from our affiliate companies!Generous paid time off & holidaysWhat You'll be Doing:Construction, maintenance, and transferring of underground and aerial HFC and FTTH plantSplicing coax, fiber, and associated components in the HFC and FTTH plantsReading HFC and FTTH network design printsAmplifier setupCompetent pole and ladder climbing skillsWorks aloft utilizing climbing gaffs, ladders, and mechanical liftsOperates company vehicles and equipment including bucket trucks, forklifts, backhoes/trenchers, and other machinesWorks outdoors in the elementsReads network design printsAccurately maintains daily log sheet and inventory paperworkKnowledge of NESC construction guidelines and Armstrong construction practicesFollows all Armstrong safety policiesMaintains vehicles and machines to Armstrong standardsWhat You'll Need:High school diploma or equivalent (GED)Must have working knowledge in the use of various tools and equipment and excellent mechanical aptitude.Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and an excellent driving record and the capability to acquire a Class A CDL w/ airbrakes and other proper endorsements as required.Must be able to work safely and rapidly under time pressure.Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis and meet all physical demands of a labor-intensive job.Must meet weight limit requirements necessary for safe use of ladders, bucket lifts, and climbing hooks.Must be physically capable to climb poles utilizing climbing hooks.Must be able to perform required job functions at heights.Must possess a positive attitude, hands-on work ethic, and a desire to learn.Must be able to travel and stay away from home for consecutive weekly durations as required.Who We AreThe Armstrong Group is a family owned and operated collection of diverse companies.
