Job Type Full-time Description Nature of Work: Under general supervision, this position will perform skilled work in the maintenance and repair of equipment in the wastewater plant. Position relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures. Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, replace and/or repair various electrical/mechanical components and equipment; (i.e., pumps, motors, gates, blowers, meters, switches, transformers, fans, belts, compressors, valves, lines, etc.)
- Inspects and evaluates equipment to provide recommendations concerning maintenance and repair needs.
- Performs preventive maintenance on machinery and components according to assigned schedules.
- Fabricates with welding, brazing and cutting torches.
- Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical and manual control systems.
- Inspection of mechanical equipment in the well fields.
- Operates various hand-held gas and electrically powered tools.
- Provides preventive maintenance to machinery and equipment through cleaning, lubrication and calibration.
- Performs minor repair, clean-up or other in-house projects as assigned.
- Safeguards all assigned tools, equipment and electronics from theft, loss, destruction and/or negligence.
- Ensures assigned vehicles and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
- Knowledge of deep wells, booster stations, water and wastewater plant equipment, including pumps, motors, chemical feed system, etc.
- Knowledge of shaft alignment of pumps, blowers and motors.
- Ability to operate and control a variety of equipment.
- Ability to evaluate equipment and recommend maintenance.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to clearly communicate and understand information, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Three (3) years skilled electrical/mechanical systems maintenance & repair
Salary Description $50,960 - $78,000 Annually
