Posting End Date: October 31, 2024 Employee Type: Regular-Full time Union/Non: This is a non-union position Salary range $110K to $130K The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the Cedar Point Wind Farm. This position manages the operational and administrative needs and functions of the facility. What You Will Do:
  • Manage the day to day activities of all staff and contractors working at site. Documenting Site Orientations, supervising employees and contractors in the field, interacting with service providers and landowners as the need arises
  • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting of a self-perform facility including wind turbines, SCADA, substation, collection system, met-towers, etc. Provide oversight of outages, and emergency on call services
  • Ensure safety, reliability and performance of the Wind Farm and compliance with regulatory requirements including NERC, CIP, FAA, etc.
  • Create and execute asset maintenance plans and asset integrity plans. Build reports related to Safety and Environment; hazards, near misses, property damage, first aid, investigations, and Finance; P&L reports, EBITDA, etc. Maintain financial accountability to the approved budget.
  • Ensure successful use of Maintenance Management system data input, updates are maintained, and repair and maintenance advisories are followed up (MAXIMO) Who You Are:
    • You possess a technical trade education or certification and/or industrial process plant experience preferred. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
    • Ideal candidate will have min 5-10 years of relevant work experience. Education or experience working with electrical systems a strong plus
    • Prior wind generation plant operations experience an asset. Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems as it relates to the onsite SCADA, Substation, collection systems and meteorological towers
    • Unwavering dedication to supporting a safe, incident-free work environment
    • Proven communication skills, interpersonal skills and digital literacy with a focus on Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) and Oracle Financial programs This role will require being on-call (24/7) to respond to emergencies and/or maintenance needs of the site (on a pre-determined, scheduled basis). The successful candidate will undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to a 5-year driving record, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing. Plant Manager has to reside within 75 miles of the site due to on-call requirements. Relocation assistance will be provided for the successful candidate. Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Must meet requirements of fit for work which includes, but is not limited to, demonstrating hand, arm, back and leg coordination needed to ascend and descend a wind tower and complying with a weight restriction of 132 kg (or 290lb) total climbing weight. Comfort with completing physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions and comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights of 300 ft. Employee understands that these requirements may be modified at the Company's discretion. Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement. Mental Requirements include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand sophisticated problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and connect with individuals via telephone.
