Summary:

The Plant Manager I reports to our GM of Manufacturing and is responsible for managing plant resources to safely and economically meet the company's production needs with respect to volume, quality, timeliness and cost.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Recommend and make improvements in products, manufacturing processes or methods, and all other aspects of operations.

* Produce components and / or finished products that meet or exceed munium established quality standards. Maintain required quality control systems as necessary, per company standards.

* Establish production schedules and deadlines, consistent with order activity.

* Operate plant free from work related injuries and illnesses, and for promoting safety consciousness, and practices throughout the plant population.

* Prepare and submit for approval an annual operating budget for the plant. Achieve production results within approved budgets and production efficiency limits.

* Be responsible for maintenance of, and improvements to the facility and equipment.

* Staff, train, and supervise plant workforce.

* Maintain good morale with the workforce, and for identifying and resolving employee relation problems that may arise.

* Identify manufacturing cost reductions opportunities and implementing these changes.

* Develop solutions for issues that may cause problems or constraints among internal and external customers.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI's):

* Improve all three building on time indexes.

* Meet Paint, Die Casting and Stamping budgets.

* Achieve / maintain three building FPY at / above 98.5%.

* Achieve OSHA recordable incidents 1 or less at each building.

* Reduce Pant and Stamping MO processing by monitoring days on average.

Requirements

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

* Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering.

* Must have 5 years manufacturing engineering and / or supervision experience.

* Requires maturity, and the ability to work independently to plan, organize, communicate, implement, delegate and lead a diverse group of employees in a highly effective manner.

Physical/Mental Essential Functions:

* Ability to count, sort, and distribute

* Ability to input data into computers and departmental systems

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and manuals

* Ability to interact / communicate effectively with customers, employees, and external personal

* Effectively communicate in English orally and in writing.

* Ability to identify, communicate, and help prevent potential problems

* Ability to solve practical problems within established parameters

* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

* Ability to deal with time sensitive situations on an ongoing basis

* Ability to follow a set of procedures or set sequences

* Ability to work in a fast pace environment

* Must be efficient with strong attention to detail

* Ability to meet frequent project deadlines

* Ability to negotiate, motivate, redirect or convince others

* Ability to make quick accurate decisions

* Ability to train others

* Ability to supervise employees

* Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations that may arise

* Ability to walk back and forward thought-out facility

* Ability to use keyboard, sporadic 10 key

* Ability to use mouse (or alternative input device)

Work Conditions:

* Work in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some areas are narrow and difficult to maneuver. Work hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00pm with minimal flexibility. No elevator access to the second floor.
