Employment Type: Full-time Available Positions: 1 Location: On-SiteApplication Deadline: April 11th, 2024Summary The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing up to 120 employees, working Monday to Friday. This role requires extensive experience in USDA meat plant facilities and a strong understanding of regulatory standards such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), GMP Good Manufacturing Practice, and SQF (Safe Quality Food)Key Activities
- Oversee all aspects of production, maintenance, and quality control departments.
- Manage the raw material meat purchasing and receiving processes to ensure the procurement of high-quality ingredients for production.
- Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and standards, including HACCP and SQF.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize production efficiency while maintaining product quality.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of employees, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and achieve production targets.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted production schedules.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Liaise with senior management to provide regular updates on plant operations, performance, and strategic initiatives.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in sausage formulation and ready-to-eat packaging processes is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and ERP systems.
Educations & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration) preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a managerial role within a USDA meat plant facility.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMP, and other regulatory standards applicable to food manufacturing.
