Summary

This position is the site leader for our client s plant and is responsible for driving continuous improvement across all aspects of SQDIP. The position is responsible for providing a safe work environment, meeting customer requirements, managing production, quality, manufacturing engineering, and production/material control. Additional responsibilities include creating and delivering capacity, capital, and financial plans, creating an environment of continuous improvement through lean principles and 80/20, developing employee skills, succession planning and communication of organization direction, and aligning the workforce to the goals of the IAQ vertical. Seeking a strong operations leadership that can drive and improve plant efficiencies and foster a positive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Unit safety leadership and culture development.
  • Application of the 80/20 principles to simplify, focus, and improve the business.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement using CI/Lean leadership principles, with a strong emphasis on daily visual management, 5S, Standard Work SMED, and other tools as appropriate.
  • Ownership of SQDIP KPIs for value streams.
  • P&L responsibility for the plant, including overall profitability.
  • Adherence to the labor strategy, union avoidance, use of temporary employees, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams, including Sales and Finance, to develop accurate forecasts and growth strategies.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to strengthen leadership skills, knowledge of KPIs and plant financials, and succession planning.
  • Champion of employee engagement activities, training, and employee development plans.
  • Capacity and labor planning, efficiency control, standard hours reductions, overtime control.
  • Improve internal and external quality metrics to reduce quality rework and defects.
  • Establishment and management of standardized work throughout the salaried and hourly organization to reduce variability and improve efficiency in all aspects of the business.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including written, verbal, and presentation techniques.
  • Maintain current ISO compliance and certifications.
  • Represent the company as the local top management executive, active participation in community affairs, organizational participation in civic affairs and associations, adherence to local, state, federal, and corporate laws and guidelines, maintain positive public relations in the community, achieve and continue a positive image externally and internally.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years in an Operations leadership role multi-function responsibility and direct reports with more than 100 employees.
  • Strong leadership experience utilizing daily visual management and KPIs to drive results.
  • Experience in the HVAC industry and sheet metal fabrication preferred.
  • Experience managing plant P&L and financial metrics.
  • History of continuous improvement responsibility with measurable results including kaizen activities and coaching/developing others.
  • Desire and ability to be a self-directed manager within the corporate reporting and organizational structure.
  • Bachelor s degree required (Business, Operations, or Engineering preferred).
