DescriptionDescription Responsible for leading and managing all safety efforts at the plant as well as planning, pit development, quality control, customer service and maintenance functions in a quarry environment. Objectives include asset protection, financial planning, budgeting, cost control, personnel and community relations. Additionally, ensure compliance with company mandated safety and environmental policies, programs and guidelines, while providing strong leadership, training, team building and supervision. Responsibilities Responsible for leading the safety, health, environmental programs, guidelines and policiesLead and develop salary and hourly workforce to create teamwork and drive a safe and productive environmentEnsure compliance with Company, Local, State and Federal rules and regulationsLeads operations to established production, safety, and environmental objectives and metricsResponsible for the planning and scheduling of plant activities to include schedule, production, maintenance, and training activitiesPerforms incidental and related duties as required and assignedThis position will be accountable to manage a team of hourly and salary employeesRequirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Solid understanding of aggregate processing and equipmentExperience with pit design/exploration, drilling, blasting, inventory control, inventory measures and customer service preferredEfficient time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skillsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and capable of developing and maintaining good relationships with company and regulatory agency personnelStrong leadership skills; possess the ability to lead, manage and motivate; have a proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production and qualityStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safetyProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook; AutoCAD experience a plusAbility to work flexible schedule as needed; including nights and weekendsEducation and Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering (preferably Mining or Civil), Mining Technology or related discipline or equivalent experience required5 years' aggregates industry experience including prior production management experience at a comparable size operation preferred3+ years of experience as a Foreman or position of similar responsibilityAbout Martin Marietta Martin Marietta is an American-based company and a leading supplier of building materials - including aggregates, cement, ready mixed concrete and asphalt.
