We believe that hard work should be rewarded and that every member of our team is crucial to our joint success.POSITION SUMMARYThe Plant Manager reports to the Vice President of Operations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of all production operations, continuous improvement, quality, scheduling, shipping, manufacturing engineering and evaluation of the assigned plant facility to include personnel within these areas. The role will also collaborate with cross functional departments to carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures that keep the plant within budget, ensure deadlines are met and maintain continuous improvements across the plant.RESPONSIBILITIESThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production to manufacturingProvide leadership, development and coaching for all functions within the assigned plant including production, maintenance, manufacturing engineering, shipping, quality, scheduling and supply chain. Responsible for establishing and managing all programs and systems necessary to operate and improve the Plant. Responsible to drive company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Local, State and Federal laws pertaining to Operations, Safety, Environmental, and/or Sanitation, including the SHARPS program, inspections, stormwater and OSHA guidelinesSupport the build of production schedules, ensuring on time shippingCreate and manage the operational budget, implementing Continuous ImprovementsWork closely with procurement to thoroughly understand supply chain opportunitiesCollect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and wasteAnalyze data and develop reports to present to executives regarding processesEstablish production goals, safety standards and production processes that maximize production activitiesEvaluate, coach, and develop employees; conduct one-on-one meetings and team meetings, when necessaryWork closely with HR team on recruitment and retention, supporting Leer's Culture statementRegularly communicate and collaborate with production team to address production schedule concerns or issuesEnsure proper maintenance of equipment and building, and establish housekeeping standardsCollaborate with Vice President of Operations on capital project improvementsCollaborate with company network including Finance, Human Resources, Quality, and Sales to maximize knowledge of core competencies and best practicesEffectively communicate with management team, customers, employees, peers, and senior level managementAchieve financial goals by managing productivity, quality, and customer service standardsModel the values and culture of the companyOther duties as assigned or requiredQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to prepare reports, budgets, memos and business correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate to top management, vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
