Job DescriptionThe Plant Manager will manage the production department in a 24/7 operation by directing a production team of salaried managers, supervisors and leads to deliver bottom-line business results in Safety, Product Quality, Continuous Improvement and Employee Engagement and training. This is a highly strategic role, successfully driving toward the business objectives for the Operations division. Creating a culture of Continuous Improvement in processes and Personal & Professional Improvement across the team will be of highest priority.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business or a similar Discipline OR a combination of 10+ years experience and training in Operations leadership within industrial manufacturing5+ years hand-on, people leadership within an industrial manufacturing environmentPreferred Skills and QualificationsExtensive cross-functional operations experience with a proven track record in operations management, employee development, safety, food safety, product quality, continuous improvement, and cost management.Experienced in leading and developing salaried employees in manufacturing.In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, HACCP guidelines, GMP, etc.Passionate about continuous improvement and leading initiatives for bottom-line results.Effective change agent.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong training/facilitation abilities.Preferred experience in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification preferred.Thrives in a fast-paced, team environment.Hands-on/lead-by-example approach.Results-driven.ResponsibilitiesProduction Standards & Quality Control:Establishes production standards and develops budget/cost controls.Ensures compliance with product quality, food safety, and specification programs.Meets employee safety, cost, food safety, and product quality objectives.Employee Development:Provides guidance, coaching, and assignments/projects.Aims for high employee engagement and high-performing teams.Manufacturing Process Planning:Guides development of manufacturing plans.Includes personnel, material, subcontract, facility, and equipment needs.Serve as a vital member of the strategy and planning team for the rollout of new productsCoordination of Manufacturing Activities:Coordinates with other organizational functions and suppliers.Optimizes production and utilization of resources.Waste Reduction & Cost Savings:Identifies opportunities for waste reduction and cost savings.Maintains efficient production and exceeds safety/quality standards.Problem Resolution:Reviews reports and directs the resolution of operational issues.Ensures minimal costs and prevents delays, addressing safety and quality issues.Communication, Training & Compliance:Ensures employees comply with company, government, and customer regulations.Develops/implements plans to inform Plant Management, Corporate, and reports.Keeps stakeholders informed about business objectives and changes.
