Job Description:

Position Summary: Provides overall leadership for Plant Operations in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, cost, equipment, and engagement. Engages all employees in continuous improvement and fosters a positive work environment while developing a culture of ownership and accountability.

Essential Functions

Lead Production, Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Quality Assurance, HR, EHS, Supply Chain, Maintenance and Engineering.

Coordinate with Planning Team schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.

Drive employee engagement, training, and development in the key areas of food safety, employee safety, product quality, and productivity.

Responsible for leadership in measuring, assessing, and enhancing production capabilities and performance.

Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies.

Ensure that all quality standards, specifications, and policies are met, drive continuous process/manufacturing improvements.

Manages product quality by understanding and communicating customer requirements and needs to employees and ensuring expectations are consistently met and according to standard work.

Develop and drive a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise priorities.

Develop and drive open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving communication and performance.

Develop and drive a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and product safety.

Utilizes available data (line speed target, set-up guidelines, and efficiency and process data) to continuously improve productivity, uptime, and reliability. Utilize the above information as a tool to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and product cost.

Sets clear priorities and align resources to deliver against business and regulatory requirements in the areas of cost, financial controls, and quality, safety, and business initiatives.

Provide leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable federal, state and local laws.

Oversee the conversion of raw materials to finished products (roasting, mixing, and packaging processes) with minimum waste and labor cost.

Responsible for maintaining a 5S environment.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Collaborate with Human Resources and other functional leaders to create and execute effective employee relations processes and develop Supervisors and Leads to do the same to maintain a positive working environment.

Drive collaboration with the R&D team in new product development to ensure plant capabilities and production feasibility are understood and addressed.

Ensures each manufacturing area is maintained in accordance with SQF standards.

Leads a team of up to 750 FSF Associates and temporary employees.

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

Bachelors Degree is preferred. Commensurate experience will be considered.

Demonstrated experience of at least 8 years in Plant Management roles food Manufacturing site.

Successful Plant turnaround experience is desired.

Food industry experience a must.

Curiosity and drive to learn the key factors that drive our success in safely delivering quality product at a competitive cost.

Strong customer service, relationship building, problem solving and follow-up skills.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Effective listener and team player. Strong knowledge of food manufacturing, FDA/USDA, and OSHA regulations desired.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Highly organized, critical thinker able to multi-task.

Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strong computer skills including experience with SAP, Microsoft Office and time keeping systems (KRONOS preferred).
