Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have experience managing both a production facility and a team. They should be able to analyze each step of the manufacturing process and make effective use of resources to deliver desired outcomes. The candidate will also have an ability to follow safety and compliance guidelines diligently in order to create a healthy work environment for all employees.

Responsibility:

  • The Plant Manager must lead and manage all operations, ensuring quality production at minimal cost. Responsibilities include training and developing staff, supervising processes, and coordinating with Quality Assurance to meet customer specifications.
  • Maintain production rates and optimize resource use while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • The Plant Manager must oversee long-term planning and execution, with a strong focus on employee relations and performance management.
  • Engage with sales, marketing, and customer service to address customer needs and support growth initiatives.
  • Direct all manufacturing functions, including production, engineering, maintenance, and administration.
  • Plan capital improvements and projects.
  • The Plant Manager must foster positive employee relations to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Prioritize safety (MSHA) and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Act as a liaison between sales and plant operations to support customer growth and needs.
  • Champion change and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • The Plant Manager must hold a bachelors degree in engineering or a relevant technical or business field.
  • Must have at least 10 years of management experience from lean manufacturing environment in minerals/ mining industry.
  • Strong understanding of Operational Excellence (5S, Kaizen, TPM, Standard Work, Kanban). Certification is a plus!
  • The Plant Manager must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Oracle is a plus.
  • Frequent exposure to plant environments, including outdoor conditions, loud noise, and dust.
  • The Plant Manager must have strong customer focus, with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
