Georgia-Pacific Recycling is now hiring a Plant Manager for our Savannah, GA facility.The Plant Manager will oversee daily operations of the recycling plant, ensuring efficient production, maintaining safety and environmental standards, while achieving operational goals. This role involves managing plant resources, leading a team, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Our Team

The Savannah Recycling plant employs 12/15 associates and serves customers around the world providing them with valuable commodities to support their businesses. This plant is part of Georgia-Pacific's network of facilities dedicated to sustainability and responsible resource management. Located in the Savannah, GA area which is known for its' historical nature dating back to the 1800s; Savannah offers opportunities to boat, fish, hunt, swim, travel and ideally moderate winters.

What You Will Do

  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including safety, production, maintenance, and logistics
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce risk while maximizing productivity and efficiency
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Team Leadership:
    • Coach, mentor, and develop plant staff through continuous training and a team first mentality
    • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement
    • Lead and participate in team meetings while promoting open communication
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Prepare and manager the plant budget
    • Monitor expenses and optimize costs without compromising safety and quality
    • Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement
    • Identify and lead initiatives to improve processes, reduce waste and increase efficiencies
    • Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer specifications

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Previous and proven experience in a plant management role or similar role supervising salary and/or hourly employees
  • Previous experience setting and achieving production and continuous improvement goals
  • Previous experience in operational management software and tools (i.e. SAP, Power BI, Excel etc.)
  • Previous experience in Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a role specific to recycling in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Previous experience and knowledge of equipment servicing, planning/scheduling, supply chain management, mechanical maintenance, plant engineering processes and equipment
