Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Description

The Plant Manager will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes within a multi-functional automotive repair, fabrication and specialty paint facility directly servicing multiple OEMs. The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant which includes automotive repair and maintenance, specialty paint and fabrication, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, and directing special projects. The successful candidate will have the key skills to develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.

Essential job functions:

* Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our clients expectations

* Increase production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards

* Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping

* Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results

* Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus

* Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions

* Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and manage and develop plant staff

* Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime

* Commit to plant safety procedures

* Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

* Address employees issues or grievances and administer corrective action in partnership with Corporate Human Resources

* Driving business through coordinating with diverse group of prospective and on site clients

Qualifications

* Bachelors degree at minimum

* Must be a high energy individual with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed

* 7+ years of experience in a plant management role

* Experience working in a manufacturing/ production environment

* Quality and Safety Oriented

Requires the Following Skills:

* Excellent communication, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, email and written means

* Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources and profit & loss)

* Familiarity with automotive industry standard equipment and technical expertise

* Knowledgeable in areas of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes

* Computer literacy- ability to produce Excel & PowerPoint information as needed

* Ability to create accountability and to lead by example

* Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
