Job DescriptionPlant Manager: Seeking a Plant Manager to lead daily operations at our lumber and building materials manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production, maintain safety standards, drive quality improvements, and manage a high-performing team. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and operational expertise are key. Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily production, scheduling, and inventory management to meet customer demand and optimize efficiency.
  • Staff Leadership: Supervise and mentor production teams, ensuring a safe, productive work environment and fostering a culture of teamwork.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA) and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Quality Control: Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet standards and address quality issues.
  • Maintenance Management: Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage the plant budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and implement best practices across operations.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Track and report on plant performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 5-7 years in manufacturing, with 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in the lumber or building materials industry.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, safety management, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, ERP systems, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and occasional heavy lifting.
