- Interface with customers as required and ensure that the plant departments are interfacing with customers appropriately and timely
- Involvement as necessary in the quoting and feasibility processes for new work orders and programs
- Provide problem solving leadership to departments to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement

- Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management
- Review P & L daily/monthly and take action as required

- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering
- Lead daily operational and management meetings and ensure agreed upon required actions are completed
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs
- Work closely with department managers to ensure efficiency and to advise priorities as required
- Ensure plant associates are adhering to plant housekeeping, organization, and safety rules including management personnel
- Broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
- Development and deployment of practical continuous improvement applications of lean manufacturing tools
- Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals

- Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and coaching skills
- Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills - communication with all levels of associates; establish collaborative relationships between functional areas of the company; build employee commitment to a continuous improvement environment
- Lead performance planning and appraisal processes and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees
Personal Skills:
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends
- Effective time management skills. Operations Managers face production deadlines, shipping dates and more and must manage their time accordingly
Preferred Education and Background:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business
- 7+ years of operations management leadership experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing
