Role Overview: We're seeking a hands-on Plant Manager who can guide, coach, and develop the team. You will oversee various departments, reporting to the Vice President of Operations. We prioritize innovation, quality, and precision engineering, and we're seeking someone who is eager to learn our processes and actively contribute to continuous improvement over timeKey Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Oversee production operations, ensuring efficiency and quality across all departments.
- Shop Floor Presence: Spend substantial time on the floor, working alongside your team to guide, coach, and troubleshoot.
- Customer Focus: Work closely with customers to understand their needs, particularly for custom orders, ensuring satisfaction.
- Process Management: Schedule / Plan, master and manage the process, from start to finish
- Operational Excellence: Maintain a well-organized and efficient production environment, ensuring all orders meet our high standards.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as they arise, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: A BS degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Management, Operations or related. Might consider equivalent of 10+ years of engineering to order manufacturing leadership experience
- Experience: 10-20 years of relevant operations / production management experience in an engineered to order, job shop, metal fabrication, CNC, welding, assembly or related environment
- Mindset: An engineering mindset, mechanically inclined, and capable of learning complex processes.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well with both the team and customers.
- Leadership Style: Fair but firm-someone who can lead without being a micromanager, and who is respected rather than feared.
- Capabilities: Possesses a creative mindset, practical hands-on experience, and strong problem-solving skills. Skilled at multi-tasking and effectively managing customer timelines.
