About the Role:
* Oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient concrete production. Responsibilities include managing production schedules, supervising staff, developing and enforcing safety protocols.
* Monitor equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, order parts, schedule necessary preventative maintenance, and collaborate with maintenance personnel.
* Coordinate raw material deliveries, maintain inventory, and optimize production processes.
* Implement and enforce quality control processes that minimize over processing and scrap
* Effective communication with team members, management, and other departments is essential for seamless plant operations.
* Recruitment, interview, hire, train and supervise an adequate number of employees to meet the needs of the pipe plant operation's
* Prepare daily production reports, quality downgrade reports, down time/efficiency reports, and other paperwork as required using Rinker required computerized forms and systems.
* Responsible for maintaining filing and documentation systems for regulatory, osha, and personnel documents.
* Batch and adjust mix designs as required per applicable ASTM, DOT and Rinker requirements
* Oversees company fleet, encompassing scheduling and coordinating required inspections, organizing trainings for drivers, ensuring regular maintenance, overseeing hiring processes for drivers, and addressing employee discipline issues as necessary.
* Performing bulk and physical inventories
* Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree preferred.
* 5 years' experience in pipe production strongly preferred.
* A minimum of 2 years of full responsibility of all aspects of production, maintenance, safety and quality control.
* 3-5 years' supervisory experience including team building, facilitation, mentoring and follow-through.
* Knowledge of production management in the concrete industry or equivalent.
* Has knowledge of the required ASTM specifications
* Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure and shipping and fulfillment.
* Demonstrated ability to provide direction, develop and lead a team, provide strategic direction, and inspire the team to achieve key goals in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ability to apply problem solving techniques.
* Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to present oneself and communicate in a professional, positive, and courteous manner at all times with all levels of team members.
* Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
* General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
* Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals.
* Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems
* Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic and dedication.
* Must have a valid drivers' license and ability to travel 5-10 percent of the time to locations and/or meetings.
