Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily production operations to meet manufacturing goals for quality, efficiency, and output.
  • Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring deadlines and customer demand are consistently met.
  • Monitor and optimize plant performance, equipment utilization, and workflow processes.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of supervisors, operators, and staff.
  • Foster a positive and productive work culture that values safety, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Recruit, train, and develop employees, creating opportunities for professional growth and engagement.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all rugs meet the company's high-quality standards, from material sourcing to final product.
  • Establish and enforce quality control protocols to minimize defects and ensure customer satisfaction.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Lead safety training programs and enforce safety best practices across the plant.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Manage the plant's operating budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Analyze production costs and suggest improvements to reduce waste and increase profitability.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, recommending innovations to enhance operations.

Equipment & Maintenance:

  • Oversee equipment maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend machinery life.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and preventative measures.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Provide regular reports on plant performance, production metrics, and operational challenges to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., R&D, Supply Chain, Sales) to align manufacturing goals with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in textiles, flooring, or home goods.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, quality control systems, and safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data-driven decision-making tools.
