Summary/Objective: The Plant Manager (PM) is responsible for managing and leading manufacturing department supervisors, team leaders, and team members for assigned areas / shifts to ensure safety, quality, positive work environment, customer requirements, and manufacturing needs are met. Provide leadership and motivation to direct reports in manufacturing system that emphasizes safety, quality, customer satisfaction, accuracy, productivity, cost reduction, housekeeping, efficiency, training, teamwork, and morale.

- Ensure planning, fabrication, weld, finishing, and assembly manufacturing operations are running effectively in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team member morale.
- Provide direction, training, and motivation to supervisors as they lead their teams.
- Be intentional in your interactions and relationships with all team members in your organization by having regular one-on-ones.
- Take ownership of manufacturing's KPI's by tracking the data, reporting the KPI's daily, and analyzing performance to improve our customer experience.
- Lead layered process audits in the production areas to ensure procedures for safety, quality, equipment, and training are being followed and all aspects of manufacturing are effective including correcting sub-standards.
- Implement short and long-term corrective actions for manufacturing problems by engaging with your support groups and following through on the expected results.
- Ensure all departmental procedures are compliant with quality, safety, and environmental management systems and programs.
- Drive the implementation of standard work, TPM, and 5S on the production floor by training, assigning direction, and following through on the results.
Working Environment - Primarily working indoors, production floor and office environment.
- May work on the production floor/outside periodically and could be exposed to elements (heat, rain, etc.)
- While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- May sit or stand for several hours at a time.
- Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
- Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, machines, printers, and copiers.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in business or engineering with 5 - 7 years' experience working in a manufacturing setting. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Previous management experience in manufacturing for a minimum of 5 years.
- Familiar with operations processes, accounting concepts, information systems (ERP).
- Must have effective analytical/communication skills and business acumen.
- Must be capable of both tactical and strategic planning and execution.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.
Preferred Education and Experience :
- Fabrication and Welding industry experience for 7 - 10 years.
- Previous manufacturing management experience for a minimum of 7 years.
Essential Functions: - Serves as the Manufacturing leader, ensuring that all team members are motivated and engaged with our safety, productivity, quality, and cost targets.
- Develops and maintains positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, dignity, respect, fairness, consistency, two-way communication, teamwork, and harmony.
- Prepares the daily debrief (production review) and reports out to the Assistant General Manager.
- Actively participates in improving the safety of the manufacturing team by monitoring performance and working closely with the EHS manager corrective actions.
- Manages the manufacturing budget including adjusting resources to achieve targets.
- Coordinate and maintain standardization of process/methods.
- Develops, leads, monitors, and participates in a Manufacturing continuous improvement system.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain a clean, organized department.
- Participates in management discussions and planning sessions to help formulate cost reduction, product improvement, and problem-solving activities.
- Ensures further development of group leaders, team leaders, and team members through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, coaching, corrective action, and cascade training.
