Job Description:

Bell & Associates is seeking an Plant Operations Manager in Bolingbrook, IL. Salary 120-130K - Previous Manufacturing Management experience is required.

DESCRIPTION

As an Operations Manager you are regarded as a leader and responsible for the effective implementation and integration, and maintaining of all initiatives that include safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale through effective leadership. This includes leading personnel whether direct or indirect reports to improve all initiatives while coordinating with all personnel as necessary, to achieve desired outcomes. You are required to use written and oral skills to develop, coordinate, implement, and enforce all policies and procedures that impact key metrics to improve the overall performance of all aspects of the plant. You must be able to work with others, in sometimes difficult situations, to achieve results that improve the plants position to better serve the business. You must coach, motivate, and ensure that the employees in your area of responsibility are performing at an optimal level to achieve the expected results as given by the leadership team. This includes all listed responsibilities below and any additional tasks assigned to you by the leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION

  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve daily operations and reports necessary KPIs.
  • Improve overall safety culture and initiate CI initiatives to improve employee engagement.
  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the companys efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and the cost of sales in each division to achieve financial objectives.
  • Coordinate and implement all quality initiatives to improve overall quality Key Performance Indicators within the plant.
  • Ability to lead personnel and hold others accountable while maintaining professionalism.
  • Provide excellent customer services skills, including consistently displaying awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal and/or external clients. Proactively ensuring that these needs are met or exceeded.
  • Partners with customer service in a matrix organization to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes. Ensures each location is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to the employees, customers, industry, and community.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in manufacturing and business.
  • The successful candidate will be highly communicative and comfortable with meeting with each level of the workforce to explain changes, answer questions, and improve morale.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with SOPs, SOCs, and documentation needs for complex operations.
  • Familiarity with LSS tools and optimization.
  • Experience with leading quality in JIT workshops.
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO, QS).
  • Experience growing behavioral based safety culture.
  • Experience with Environmental compliance and reporting.
  • Leadership Experience with Supply Chain optimization.
  • Demonstrates passion for the business and his/her role; espouses a collaborative approach; leads by example in setting a positive tone.
  • Cultivates an active network of internal and external relationships and relates well to key colleagues at all levels.
  • Holds oneself to the highest standards of accountability; has the ability and willingness to drive change while maintaining operating effectiveness; integrates and aligns efforts across all corporate functions and business units; monitors results; tackles problems directly.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in a technical role within a Manufacturing environment (packaging or plastics manufacturing preferred)
  • 5 years of experience of manufacturing leadership with direct reports.
  • 3-5 years of leadership evaluation process.
  • Provide examples of effectively implementing a Continuous Improvement initiative that impacts KPIs.

  • Cultivates an active network of internal and external relationships and relates well to key colleagues at all levels.
