Relate Search has partnered with a well-known, global leader in Specialty Materials to add an outstanding Plant Operations Manager. The Plant Operations Manager will manage all aspects of the site's business performance, ensuring the seamless interaction of all functional activities, including environmental health and safety, financial forecasting, operational effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure a safe work environment for employees and visitors while meeting legislative requirements.
- Provide leadership and resources to ensure products and services meet company targets and customer specifications.
- Work closely with the Commercial Team to develop and maintain exceptional business relationships with customers.
- Manage resources effectively, including cash, materials, labor, equipment, and natural resources.
- Ensure environmentally responsible operations in compliance with standards and legislative requirements.
- Contribute to strategic site development, including human resources, manufacturing processes, equipment, capabilities, and distribution of goods.
- Oversee site operational costs, including budgeting, re-forecasts, and monthly reporting to senior management.
- Develop human resources within the site, including training, career development, succession planning, discipline, and compensation.
- Promote effective risk management by maintaining and addressing site-based risk profiles in accordance with company policy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Sciences, Finance, or HR.
- Entrepreneurial mindset to drive sales and develop creative solutions.
- Strong business & commercial acumen to elevate the site.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively at all levels of an organization.
- Minimum of 10+ years of operations management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in quality management systems (QMS), ISO certifications (ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO13485), and FDA regulations.
- Proven ability to manage capital-intensive manufacturing facilities in demanding industrial/healthcare markets.
- Strong cost control and inventory management experience across multiple sites.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications:
- MBA or similar degree preferred.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and corporate IT systems like SAP.
- Experience in converting materials, adhesive technologies, printing, automated packaging, and sterilization validation.
- Previous experience applying automation to manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of US labor laws and regulations.
