Applicants must successfully pass each of the selection processes by 70% or better to proceed in the process.This posting is subject to close after 14 daysResponsible for operating plant processes, equipment and machinery; conducting routine laboratory analyses; collecting and reporting data; performing general maintenance and mechanical repair; and serving as lead worker on assigned shifts or projects. Major Duties
Inspect, clean, and lubricate plant equipment such as boilers, pumps, motors, incinerators and related machinery.Monitor and record equipment performance, gauges, and charts for treatment plant and remote facilities; adjust, repair, and replace equipment as needed. Maintain accurate records of plant operations and activities.Performs routine maintenance and assist with major repairs on pumps, valves, motors, regulators, and other equipment. Conduct laboratory tests to monitor and adjust plant operations as required.Performs maintenance tasks, including cleaning equipment, janitorial work, painting. and assisting with equipment or facility modifications; provide emergency maintenance as needed.Operate all plant and pumping station equipment.Adjust pumps and chemical feeds based on flow and treatment demands.Work at Remote Facilities as needed.Performs other related duties as required. Job Requirements
High School diploma or GED.Minimum one (1) year of experience in plant operations or industrial maintenance required.Possession of or ability to obtain Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification, Class D within 2 test cycles and Class C within 6 test cycles. Experience with preventative maintenance and basic repair of pumps, motors or related mechanical/electrical equipment including the ability to identify and report potential issues.Knowledge of materials, procedures and equipment used in wastewater treatment plant maintenance and operationsUnderstanding of hydraulic systems including open channel and pressure systems, as well as interrelated plant systems such as chemical feed, water systems, and sludge handling.Valid State of Michigan driver's license, maintained in good standing.
