This is a division-level support position. We are seeking a self-motivated person who is able to manage multiple concurrent projects, has a passion for using new technologies, is very analytical, and understands how to optimize.

What You'll Do:

Champion Continuous Improvement: Review existing plant operations to find opportunities to improve plant-operating efficiency. Evaluate and recommend new technologies or procedures that will improve facility performance KPIs and reduce costs. Develop tools and applications to enhance our capabilities to improve plant operating performance.

Analyze and Optimize Plant Performance: Evaluate and support in field plant performance, historian data and plant performance models to identify opportunities for operational improvement, potential plant changes and implementation of new systems.

Develop Dashboards: Create and improve plant-level dashboards and reports to support operations management and drive operational improvements. Develop and facilitate in field training and application of dashboards working in partnership with the Plant Operation teams, including Area/Plant Managers, Supervisors and Plant Operators.

Be Present: Visit and inspect production facilities across the division. Build relationships and knowledge of our operating facilities. Teach, coach and communicate operational strategies and opportunities for performance improvement. 50-70% of time in the field.

Assist: Assist division process control engineers in the maintenance and improvement of existing plant automation systems. Assist division engineering in assessment of capital improvements. Assist division management in KPI improvement initiatives.

Education/Experience:

B.S. or Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent of 5 years in the aggregate industry with production plant operations experience.

Skills You'll Need:

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation and speaking in group settings. Able to present complex information in a clear, concise and positive manner. Candidates will train, coach and advocate opportunities and operations concepts at multiple levels within the operations team.

Plant Operational Knowledge: Candidates should have a thorough understanding of aggregate qualities and plant setups to determine how plant changes could impact the plant's ability to meet customer and agency requirements. Involvement in operating a plant and common production equipment capabilities is a plus.

Time Management Skills: Must have the ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects and priorities at one time. Must have the ability to work in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision-making. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self-directed and motivated; highly organized.

Plant Optimization Technology: Knowledge of how plant optimization programs work. Understanding of PID loops and instrumentation such as level sensors, scales, VFDs, etc.

Planning: Ability to anticipate, plan and coordinate projects. Must be able to proactively think through hypothetical what if scenarios and develop contingency plans.

Physical: Must have the ability to drive a pickup truck on a daily basis. Must be able to physically walk and navigate production facilities.
