The Opportunity: ML6 Search & Talent Advisory has partnered with a well-established premier manufacturer of folding cartons, thermoformed plastics and rigid paperboard boxes. Our client has had successful operations since the 19th century and are a specialized provider of custom contract packaging for the US market. We have partnered with them in their search for a Plastics Plant Supervisor in New York. What You'll Be Doing:
- Reviews production reports, time sheets, and manages administrative paperwork
- Assigns employees to tasks and machines, coordinating with other shifts and departments
- Provides training in department procedures, machine operation, safe work practices, and assists with production issues
- Evaluates employee performance, documents deficiencies, and handles disciplinary actions
- Ensures an injury-free work environment and addresses safety concerns. Hearing protection is required when in close proximity to grinding machines and safety shoes are required in this work environment
- Interviews, evaluates, and recommends candidates for job openings
- Occasionally will operate machines and take on special assignments as needed
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- 3+ years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Preference given to candidates with experience in Thermoforming processes
- Possess a mechanical aptitude with a passion or manufacturing
- Must be physically able to perform duties (standing & walking up to 8 hours per day, occasionally operating mechanical lift trucks, ability to perform visual inspections of products, etc)
