The Thrillville Thrillbillies, Southern Illinois' premier baseball team, are on the hunt for a new voice to bring the excitement of the team and ballpark to life! As the team continues to capture the hearts of local fans with their thrilling gameplay, they seek a dynamic play-by-play broadcaster who can elevate the experience both on and off the field. This coveted role offers a unique opportunity to join the Thrillbillies' vibrant community, providing live commentary that ignites the passion of fans and brings the energy of each game to life, inning by inning.DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES - HOME GAMES: Produce stat packs & media guides for coaching staffs, broadcasters, scouts, beat writers, and other media members. Update team roster when word is received through coaching staff. After updating, send roster to distribution list which most importantly includes Prospect League office and member teams Produce daily game notes for team coaching staff, broadcasters, scouts, and media members. Roster sheets and program inserts needed for all home games. All statistics must be up to date for the start of that day for both teams. Produce lineup sheet and distribute to coaching staffs, broadcasters, scouts, and fan assistance area. Conduct pre-game interviews for the broadcast. Players, coaches, special guests, front office members, etc. may be used for interviews. Host 5 minute engaging pre-game show for fans at every Thrillbillies home game. Write a post-game story to be published on the team website, with picture, and distribute to all media outlets. Handle all official scoring changes either using emails or phone calls, having the material ready when calling. Be in contact with coaching staff for both the Marion Baseball Team and visiting clubs. Game notes, interviews, game stories for all games home and away.OTHER DUTIES: Community/Speaking Events: Be available to take players to speaking engagements or yourself if you are personally asked to speak at an event. Coordinate these events around your regular work schedule. Often times other staff members will assist if there is a lot going on. Media requests: local and national - regarding players and coaches. Coordinate with players and coaches with media outlet's requests. Website work: Handle all team based content on team website. Starting pitchers, probables, etc. Update website with headshots of players and coaches. Social Media: Handle all content regarding social media (Facebook, Twitter, team blog etc.) in assistance with the front office staff. It is important to grow our online presence. Record radio spots promoting team, upcoming games, promotions, and more. Ensure cleanliness of both radio booths Prepare and handle the team program.
