Job Description:

Adecco has a new client in Portland, ME who is seeking a new Maintenance Technician/Specialist for their team.

Role: Maintenance Tech/Specialist

Location: Portland, ME

Salary: $25-30 per hour

Interviews: 1 phone, 1 on-site

Start date: October or November, 2024

We have two positions, one for first shift 5:45am - 2:15pm, the second is 11:00am - 7:30pm, with some flexibility

Position Summary:

Install, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and/or electrical equipment; troubleshoot, repair, and program PLC's on existing equipment; Work with Engineering, Management, and Production to eliminate waste and maximize O.E.E.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and facilities systems throughout the plant
  • Electrical
  • Perform electrical/ mechanical maintenance, repairs and installation for equipment and facilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical / electronic and programmable equipment
  • Understand equipment schematics (English and foreign)
  • Ability to use electrical, electronic and programmable controller testing and diagnosing equipment
  • Ability to do some basic circuit design as part of repair and installation procedures
  • Install electrical utilities, meeting all state, local and federal codes
  • General working knowledge of lockout/ tagout procedures and appropriate OSHA standards
  • Support and work with production departments and engineering personnel to continually improve Division TPM program
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unsafe & unusual conditions to supervisor with improvement suggestions
  • Maintain necessary records
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain quality standards
  • Train and mentor less experienced co –workers
  • Work with Engineering to rebuild, design, and upgrade new existing equipment
  • Adhere to strict safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Perform periodical lubrication maintenance schedule for assigned machines
  • Inspect and clean tanks and lines in plant machines
  • Change oil and filters on machines as scheduled

Qualifications:

  • A.S. in the electrical or mechanical trades or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to use electrical, electronic and PLC testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic circuit design.
  • Knowledge of state, local, and federal codes.
  • Working knowledge of lockout-tagout, confined space, and appropriate OSHA standards.

  • Frequently required to stand for prolonged periods (3+ hours); walk; use hands to grasp handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit
