General DescriptionDrug Plastics is seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and maintaining PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems used in industrial automation processes within the plastics industry.The PLC Programmer will collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure efficient and reliable operation of manufacturing systems.Minimum Knowledge and Skills RequiredAssociate's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagramExperience with PLC hardware and software platforms commonly used in the plastics industry (ex: Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric)Strong understanding of industrial automation principles and practices specific to plastics manufacturing processes with ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams related to plastics production equipmentExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially in the context of plastics manufacturing environmentsEffective communication and teamwork abilitiesPrior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment within the plastics industry is preferredExperience with Raspberry Pi for automation or control applications is a plusMajor Duties and Responsibilities:Develop PLC programs based on project requirements and specifications for plastics manufacturing processesDesign and implement control systems for automated machinery and processes within the plastics industryConfigure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software components specific to plastics production linesConduct testing and debugging of PLC programs to ensure proper functionality in plastics manufacturing environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with other control systems and equipment used in plastics manufacturingProvide technical support and assistance to production and maintenance teams working with plastics processing equipmentDocument and maintain detailed records of PLC programs, configurations, and modifications for plastics manufacturing systemsStay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to PLC programming and automation within the plastics industryMeasurement of Performance:Satisfactory and timely completion of assigned Quality Manufacturing IT goals.Attitude towards work and willingness/ability to cooperate with coworkers and supervisor.Ability to interact effectively with the users and other team members.Ability to adapt to new systems and technology, accept responsibility, and identify areas for innovation and improvement.Ability to recognize problem areas and act accordingly to correct those problems.Overall effectiveness and efficiency of Quality Manufacturing IT as well as degree of user satisfaction with IT provided services.
