SMSI is currently in search of a PLC programmer. This individual will have the crucial responsibility of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting control systems and automation equipment. Responsibilities Install and configure control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other automation equipment. Program and troubleshoot PLCs to control and monitor machinery and processes. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems and automation equipment to ensure optimal performance. Identify and resolve technical issues and malfunctions in control systems and automation equipment. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design and implement control system upgrades and modifications. Document all maintenance and repair activities, including equipment modifications and software changes. Train operators and maintenance personnel on the proper use and maintenance of control systems and automation equipment. Stay updated with the latest advancements in control systems and automation technology to provide recommendations for improvement. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical or automation technology is preferred. Minimum one year proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting control systems and automation equipment. Strong knowledge of PLC programming and HMI configuration. Familiarity with electrical and electronic components, circuits, and systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
