Job Description:
Our client is sourcing for a PLC Service Engineer in the greater Philadelphia area to support the 100-mile radius of northern Maryland/Delaware and Philadelphia and be the team lead for the Support technicians. Their PLC service area includes Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, along with the parts of New Jersey, and New York.Typical profile for this position is those with an advanced electrical troubleshooting and maintenance background with 5+ years PLC Programming experience. Typical tasks include: Troubleshooting, control wiring, panel building, programming, hardware investigation (reading manuals), creating, updating, and following procedures, documenting. Depending on your level of experience, in the beginning you will spend a lot of time in the shop training or going along with the Service Manager, President or other technicians on service calls. Nearly all service calls initiate between their normal working hours of 8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday. However, depending on the nature of the problem, times may occasionally go beyond normal business hours.You will be the Technical Lead for projects and service calls. You will also be responsible for providing guidance and technical support to the Level I Support group.Specific position requirements - The ability to troubleshoot control systems using a Digital Multimeter (DMM), Laptop, and other basic electrical test equipment provided by the company. - The willingness to drive to customer sites (typically within a 100-mile radius, but occasionally further) on short notice.- A minimum of 5 years' experience with programming Programable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) from scratch along with experience with industrial control systems.- Experience with Allen Bradley or other PLC or HMI programming software.- The ability to effectively and professionally communicate directly with customers.- The ability to effectively support the Level I Support group. - You are meeting clients face-to-face, in need of folks whom have the personality and technical confidence to get the job done! Training: Two-day training period with President and COOTravel: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, home each night - working independentlyPay Grade: Salary depending on experience + quarterly bonuses + time flexibility (small company that lends personal time)
