Job Description:

Installs and maintains plumbing fixtures and piping systems throughout the medical facilities and the affiliates.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Installs and maintains plumbing fixtures and piping systems for steam, water, gas, air, vacuum, oxygen and other medical gases, backflow preventors,etc., according to standards.

* Provides for the continual inspection and testing of the plumbing systems.

* Troubleshoots, problem solves and works independently.

* Provides inspection reports and projects time frames and repair estimates to management.

* Performs routine maintenance and other functions as needed and/or requested.

* Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

* Performs functions that may affect a population newborn through geriatric.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Knowledge of plumbing codes and ordinances.

* Knowledge of piping, fixtures and equipment associated with the plumbing trade

* Knowledge of basic maintenance

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Commercial plumbing and fire codes

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Completion of a recognized journeyman program

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Construction background

* Medical gases

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

* Current licensure as a Licensed Journeyman Plumber in the State of Kansas

* Backflow Preventer certification

PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

* Medical gas certification
