  • Repair, maintain and inspect plumbing systems and fixtures
  • Diagnose, repair and/or replace sump and circulating pumps
  • Responsible for soldering, pro press, PEX, thread pipe and PVC piping repair and/or replacement
  • Assist the manager of mechanical services in project management and contracted services
  • Operational management such as open clogged drains and toilets, valve and faucet repairs
  • Repair and/or replace damaged fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, and bathtubs
  • Operate within an automated work order system for material management, time usage, and timely response to the customer
  • Transport materials, tools and equipment to and from the work site
  • Remove snow and ice from stairs, walks and ramps including shoveling, plowing and salting.
  • Follow and comply with OHSA rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Education and/or Experience:
  • High school graduate (diploma/GED) required
  • State of Wisconsin Journeyman Plumber License required
  • Master Plumber preferred minimum three years experience as a Service Plumber
  • Skilled in the use of mathematics and the ability to read blue prints
  • Knowledge of applicable Wisconsin plumbing codes
Physical Demands
  • Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of job, including heavy lifting
  • Job requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
Other Requirements:
  • Must have valid Wisconsin motor vehicle license and be insurable under the university's insurance plan.
  • May work in cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Shift changes and/or weekend work may be required by your supervisor based on departmental and University needs
  • Low Pressure Boiler License and Cross Connection Control License preferred or willingness to obtain one
