Job Title: Plumber

Department: Facility Maintenance & Operations

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced plumber to install, maintain and repair sanitation units, water, and gas supply lines, heating systems, and associated fixtures and appliances in residential, commercial, and industrial structures. You will also be required to design and inspect plumbing systems, perform diagnostics, and ensure they comply with regulatory codes. To be successful as a plumber, you should be able to work independently and solve problems as quickly and efficiently as possible. To excel in this position, you should have strong technical skills, be a master at troubleshooting and enjoy dealing with people.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* None

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems at site

* Perform installation of plumbing systems at new properties

* Inspect previously installed plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites

* Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems

* Answer calls for plumbing issues from general contractors

* Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing systems a company installs and maintains

* Work carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections

* Communicate well with clients to ensure client satisfaction

* Communicate well with team members and fellow employees

* Manage a work log

* Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites

* Provide information regarding plumbing system upkeep to clients

Required Skills/Abilities:

* Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements

* Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

* Diagnose Plumbing and Piping Problems

* Identify Problems

* Accessing Confined Spaces

* Applying adhesives, sealants, and caulk

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* At least two years of related experience required

* Valid plumbing license

* Good working knowledge of water supply, heating, and ventilation systems.

* Proficiency in reading blueprints and using plumbing tools

* Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

Physical Requirements:

* Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands

* Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noises

* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at times

* Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessary

* Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels

* Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals

Special Qualifications/Requirements:

* Must be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state, or local government's background investigation
