Typical Work Activities: (Illustrative only)

Installs water service piping, which includes wiping and testing joints;

Installs and repairs fixtures and equipment requiring pipe connections;

Repairs pipes and valve traps in heating systems;

Clears stoppages in waste lines, traps and other drains;

Inspects and repairs sump pump and sewage ejectors;

Packs valves and repairs air compressors and vacuum pumps;

Installs fixtures such as sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, water fountains and coolers;

Assist skilled workers in other trades when not working as plumber.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma and five (5) years of experience as a journeyman plumber; or

Seven (7) years of experience as described in (A); or

An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Possession of a Class D Driver's License valid in the state of New York.
