OverviewVTG is seeking a Plumber Machinist to support work at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCP). The Plumber Machinist will support a test site to support Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) system research, development, testing, prototype evaluation, and in-service engineering support. Specifically, supporting a program to provide industrial services for test sites, equipment removal/relocation services, and maintenance services for various systems and equipment for the DDG-51, FFG-62 and DDG(X) Land Base Engineering Sites. What will you do?
- Performs a combination of plumbing and machine shop tasks including
- Installing and repairing fresh and salt water pipes, steam pipes, and air conditioning piping, maintaining and repairing valves, faucets, water closets, sinks, and steam heating fixtures.
- Fabricates spare and replacement parts on lathe and other machine shop equipment, and overhauls machinery according to manufacturer's specifications.
- May work off of blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Do you have what it takes?
- Minimum Education: High School, GED, trade, industrial school, or apprenticeship graduate.
- Minimum Experience: Three years of experience in the installation and repair of the operation, repair modification, maintenance of fresh and salt water pipes, steam pipes, and chilled water piping; maintaining and repairing valves, faucets, and steam heating fixtures, fabrication of spare and replacement parts.
- Must be a US Citizen.
