Who We Are St Johns Episcopal Hospital is the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated culturally and economically diverse and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways and Five Towns in southern Queens County and southwestern Nassau County New York Celebrating over 110 years of community care the 257 bed facility provides people of all faiths with comprehensive preventive diagnostic treatment and rehabilitative services regardless of ability to pay Come Grow With Us TypeFull Time ShiftDays Hours800 AM 430 PM Pay3627hour This position will support our main campus and off site locations The Plumber installs and maintains all plumbing within the Hospital and auxiliary sites Tests and repairs sprinklers and standpipe systems following NYC code requirements Reads and interprets drawings and blueprints Responsibilities Prepare material lists for jobs and perform inventoriesInstall and maintain waste and soil piping and accessoriesInstall and repair water gas air and vent pipingInstall and repair steam lines traps strainers and valvesInstall and repair medical gas vacuum and oxygen systemsInstall and repair compressed air and acid waste systemsTest repair and maintain standpipe and sprinkler systemsInstall and repair all plumbing fixturesInstall and repair boiler equipment pumps traps etcMaintain domestic hot water tanks and distribution stationsMaintain main water tank non potable water system and cooling towersRequirements High School diploma or Equivalency degree Trade School graduate preferred5 years experienceExperience on alteration work including new utility installationsAbility to read and understand blueprints and diagramsKnowledge of NYC plumbing codes
