Job Description:POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Plumbing Designer leads a team of designers on large projects. Monitors long-term project deadlines and ensures deliverables are met. Quality control work done by less-experienced designers.What you'll do:
Leads a team of designers on large projects. Monitors long-term project deadlines and ensures deliverables are met. Quality control work done by less-experienced designers. Represents Southland plumbing design to all project parties and attends in-person meetings with owners, general contractors, and AHJs. Strong PM skills including creation of projections, plumbing design budget management, and ability to produce and follow change orders. Ability to manage multiple designers to meet deliverables, deadlines, and objectives. Completes calculations, drawings, and specifications related to fire suppression and detection systems for large projects. Oversees the entire lifecycle of large projects as it pertains to plumbing including layout, permit procurement, field surveys, coordination, creation of fabrication lists, answering and assisting with field-generated questions, RFI creation, and as-builts. Works under general supervision. Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment. Makes decisions based on issues and possible courses of action. May supervise a few engineers and/or technicians on a project basis.What you bring to the table: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
