JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Support the needs of the project as identified by their Supervisor.
  • Ensures the requirements of policies are being executed adhered to.
  • In addition to the Safety Training provided by the company, will proactively continue to learn and understand the requirements of Health and Safety legislation and safety policies.
  • Duties will include, but are not limited to, plumbing, pipe fitting, cutting, coring, digging and trenching, measuring, layout, paperwork, and other similar tasks.
  • Responsible for other field duties as requested by their superior and can include items such as housekeeping, caulking, filing, organizing, receiving, material delivery to the work areas, etc.
  • Familiar with all aspects of special projects and will be proactive, and act to warn or rectify any unsafe conditions or project activities not progressing according to plan.
  • Will develop Apprentices and/or Journeypersons in a manner consistent with policies, processes including the Successful Project Management Procedures (SPMP) manual.
  • Will coordinate site activities on assigned projects
  • Will ensure all necessary administrative functions are completed.
  • Punctual and flexible with respect to the client requirements.
  • Work with and maintain positive working relationships with fellow employees, management, and any other trades and authorities.
  • Identify new opportunity with priority clients, to facilitate growth within the department.
  • Conduct site investigation and support in creation of Estimate.
  • Support of On-Call Program
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Manage a project using all applicable systems.
  • Address client concerns and ensure that the project meets or exceeds client expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Interface with clients and other key stakeholders as needed.
  • Assess the work for the site and ensure it is managed in a safe and professional manner, considering the safety of all people on site affected by the work. Engage supporting personnel from management and Safety department when required to address uncertain situations.
  • Ensure providing professional quality work within allotted time frame set out by the client.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to assigned technician(s).
  • Ensure all necessary security and clearance requirement are in good standing.
  • Will communicate and coordinate with other trades and the client to ensure smooth execution of the work
  • Will proactively continue to upgrade trade skills, and technical understanding of building systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and foster a positive work environment with all Stakeholders.
  • Supports Company ISO Quality Control efforts, and auditing as required.
  • Responsible for adherence and enforcement of Company Policies and Procedures
  • Prioritizes Health and Safety in all areas of business
  • Demonstrate a commitment to all facets of the role; working towards the achievement of the Company goals and objectives
  • Ensures the development, distribution and the adherence to the Company's policies, procedures and standard work practices that ensure full compliance with Ontario's Human Rights, Employment Standards and OHSA legislation.
  • Actively works to streamline work processes to remove inefficiencies
Qualifications:
  • Skills & Qualifications
  • Licensing / Red Seal in their specific trade and a member in “Good Standing” within their trade organization
  • Valid Driver's License and Driver's Abstract in good standing
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a project and crew of 2 personnel.
  • Completion of required supervisory training.
  • Construction ON - Merit Ontario (2IC Training)
  • Construction/Project Management Training (Scheduling/Communication/Planning)
  • ISO/Quality Training
