General Statement of Duties This is a full-time 12 month position. The contract for this position begins on July 1, 2024. This position entails teaching knowledge and skills necessary for the installation servicing of plumbing/piping systems and concepts to include different types ofpiping, methods of joining pipes, and interpreting blueprints. This includes the inspection, repairing and maintenance of plumbing/piping systems. Examples of systems include potable water, sanitary, stormwater, sprinkler and fire sprinkler. Emphasis will be placed on safety protocols, use of tools, compliance with industry standards and effective communication and organization. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in sprinkler pipe fitting. The selected candidate must hold a valid tradesmen license. The selected candidate will be required to gain a valid Virginia Technical Professional License Essential Duties The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Teach theory and practical application of plumbing and sprinkler systems
- Coordinate with staff to participate in the house building project managed by the HCVTEF
- Develop business partnerships that support program goals
- Sponsor an active student organization SkillsUSA and support student participate in competitions
- Maintain complete records of student performance and attendance
- Maintain a learning environment and atmosphere conducive to safe, orderly, and effective instruction
- Make effective use of new technologies in the delivery of instruction
- Participate in a variety of activities to keep professional skills, curriculum, and instruction current
- Attends work daily and be engaged in job responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, community, and school personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible for a teaching license or Technical Professional License in the state of VA and hold a valid tradesmen license with the state of VA.
- Current OSHA 510 certification required with expectation to be OSHA 500 Trainer certified within first year of employment.
- Must already possess their CDL license or obtained within first year of employment.

Minimum annual starting salary: - $69,537.54 (Bachelors)
- $72,875.52 (Masters)
