SUMMARY: Primary function is to perform any available utility work consisting of mould feed, supplying trays, foam, or other packing supplies to the line, washing moulds, melting chocolate, supply inclusions at drop areas, all functions at decorator area and housekeeping duties. When an 5:00 start is needed to help feed moulds, this position will be first to cover that need. This position will also perform all Backup Mould Feed and Operator functions when needed. All duties are at Leader discretion based upon crewing and scheduling requirements. ADDITIONAL PACKAGING SPECIFIC SUMMARY: Inspects candy pieces, inserts trays of product into 031 containers. When needed supply inclusions at nut drop area, melt chocolate, wash moulds, and perform housekeeping duties as assigned. Primary job is packer but required to perform any available utility work at leader discretion based upon crewing and scheduling requirements. - Order of Operator Backup will be first Mould Feed, then Machine Operator
- Performing Machine Operator functions will qualify for that rate of pay
- Follow all SOPs
- Train new employees as required
- Shut down Line if serious Safety or Quality problems arise
- Comply with all Safety policies, report Safety violations, and attend Team Safety Meetings when required
- Report problems regarding Food Safety to Lead, Supervisor or Manager
- Maintain Home Department in a clean and orderly manner

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES PACKER/UTILITY
- Inspect bottom of candy pieces, place color coded label to designated candy, then place card or tray on candy mould
- Inspect & straighten candy pieces, making decision based on QA guidelines
- Place paper or foam and stack, counting layers, and place in 031 container (per schedule V), and slide to weigh position
- Add nut or cherry inclusions at creamer area.
UTILITY MOULD FEED
- Start shell room; verify machine set up and chocolate type according to schedule, adjust oscillators to keep shells in spec until relieved by relief operator.
- Verify proper amount of moulds are available
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC ADDITIONAL DUTIES PACKER/UTILITY
- Supply and inspect cards & trays, to prevent powder or chocolate debris
- Form boxes and insert bags
- Inspect candy when staked off: and record, weigh, and bag x-pack
- Perform all related duties on knobel decorator.
- May be required to pull and wrap skids
