Job Summary: Under the supervision of the POCT supervisor, the POCC will provide technical oversight of POCT and work collaboratively with hospital personnel, providers, and Clinical Pathology in the validation, training, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and execution of process improvement of authorized POCT throughout Upstate. Develops and maintains a quality management system for POCT that assures quality and meets regulatory requirements. The POCC coordinates/participates in required method comparisons, instrument validations, linearity checks, end user training, and competency assessments. The POCC develops, writes, and revises Upstate policies and procedures in compliance with NYSDOH and DNV regulatory requirements.Minimum Qualifications:NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Master's degree in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences, and two years of Clinical laboratory experience OR NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, and a minimum of four years of Clinical Laboratory experience.
