Look no further because BMS is your dream come true!The Point of Care Testing Coordinator is a lead position that is responsible for the training and oversight of the point of care testing program for multiple site locations. The Point of Care Testing Coordinator provides technical resources and daily direction to nurses, medical assistants, clinical managers, and providers regarding laboratory policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. The Point of Care Testing Coordinator assures quality testing and accurate test performance through operator training, competency assessment, equipment monitoring, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, quality control review, and proficiency testing. This individual also is responsible for developing policy and training materials, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and CLIA requirements, and applying for/maintaining CLIA licenses and waivers. The Point of Care Testing Coordinator is a valued member of the Clinical Operations team and presents a professional, friendly manner with the Clinical Operations team, center staff, new employees, and external stakeholdersRequirementsRequired Education:High School Diploma or GED. Certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program or a higher level of medical education (i.e., accredited LPN program, RN program.)Required Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • RMA administered by American Medical Technologists (AMT), or
  • CMA administered by American Association of Medication Assistants (AAMA) , or
  • CCMA administered by National Healthcare Association (NHA) , or
  • NCMA administered by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Required Experience:3+ years' experience as a Medical Assistant performing point of care testing in a lab or clinical care settingWorking knowledge of Joint Commission/CLIA requirements for point of care testingCommunicates effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Experience in understanding and usage of computers as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
