Location: Surprise,AZ, USA
This position supports a 24-hour per day, 7-day a week operation Work schedule is variable which includes nights, weekends, and holidays and when the need arises.
Tentative Dates for Dispatcher process:
* Written Exam scheduled for January 7 and 11, 2025
* CritiCall Exam will take place the week of January 13, 2025
* Interviews conducted January 23, 2025
* Eligible Candidates will receive detailed instructions via email once applications are screened for minimum qualifications and date are finalized*
SUMMARY
Incumbents answer emergency and non-emergency telephones, prioritize the calls, and dispatch emergency personnel to crime scenes and calls for service. Incumbents also enter and maintain warrants, property files, and citations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Entry-level applicants:
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and one year high volume, telephone and keyboarding experience. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
Lateral applicants:
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and two years experience as a public safety dispatcher in a law enforcement agency. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have or be able to attain Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Terminal Operator Certification (TOC), Level A, within six months of hire.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview, an assessment exercise, and exam.
