The Probationary Police Officer Entrance Exam will be given March 8, 2025 at the Lubbock Police Academy, 508 Davis Dr. in Reese Center at 8:30 AM. All applicants should plan to arrive at the testing location by 7:45 AM.All applications for this exam must be completed online and received by the City of Lubbock Human Resources Department by 11:59p.m. on March 4, 2025. IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS AFTER SEPTEMBER 8, 2004, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR HIRE.Applicants must pass the Probationary Police Officer Entrance Exam before taking the Physical Ability Test. The Physical Ability Test will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, after the entrance examination.The eligibility list created as a result of this examination will be effective from March 8, 2025, through September 8, 2025 unless exhausted before that date.The physical ability test for the Entrance exam into the Lubbock Police Academy is a TIMED 2000 meter row. The score for this assessment is set at 40%. The score is calculated and based off of the applicant's age, weight, and gender. There is NO set time for this assessment as each applicant is different. You will then click on the Fitness Testing tab located on the right hand side of the page. Then click on the Concept 2 Rower test Calculator underneath the Fitness Testing. This will take you to the Concept 2 Rower calculator where you can input your information. You will want to input the 40% in the Desired Results area to determine your approximate time needed to pass the assessment.If you would like to practice on a Concept 2 Rower machine before the exam on March 8, 2025, the Lubbock Police Department will provide a practice session before the exam and the session will be posted on the department's social media outlets.The LPD Recruiting Team will send emails with a coupon code to receive a study guide for the written entrance examination.
