Ellwood Crankshaft Group (ECG) is the world's leading manufacturer and remanufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts. ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets. Today, ECG has four facilities throughout PA. We are currently seeking a full-time Polisher position at Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine in Hermitage, PA. This non-exempt position may be required to work rotating shifts, 12-hour schedules and overtime as needed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and/or diagrammatic forms
- Familiar with general computer applications
- Ability to communicate clearly and distinctly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read blueprints and written direction
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing and manufacturing processes preferred
- Ability to use various measuring instruments, including micrometers and snap gauges
- Prior machining ability preferred but not necessary
- Mechanical ability a plus
- Strong math skills
- Ability to work well with a team and independently
- Detailed oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities
- Results oriented with a strong desire to succeed
- Ability to work a variety of work schedules and overtime as required
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Measure and prepare final dimensions of finished crankshafts
- Identify and make required adjustments with the correct abrasive material to bring the crankshaft to final product dimension and finish, including lapping, belt polishing, benching and hand working
- Load and unload machine with aid of an overhead crane
- Install counterweights as needed
- Lubricate machines, check and fill reservoirs, etc. daily
- Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition
- Report defective material to inspection immediately
- Observe all safety rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary
