Job Description ECU Health About ECU Health Duplin HospitalECU Health Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed facility located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The 15-bed emergency department serves approximately 25,000 patients per year. In addition to providing general medical and surgical services, ECU Health Duplin Hospital offers chemotherapy and other cancer infusion interventions and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center.
Position Summary A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of patients with sleep disorders including in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A Polysomnographic Technologist is able to perform the duties defined and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff as assigned.
Minimum Requirements - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate's Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and Registered as RPSGT with North Carolina Medical Board.
- 0 to 3 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- Bachelor's Degree in Sleep Science/Neurodiagnostic/Sleep Technology may be substituted for 2 years of experience
Clinical Ladder Polysomnographic Technician I:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate's Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and Registered as RPSGT with North Carolina Medical Board.
- 0 to 3 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- Bachelor's Degree in Sleep Science/Neurodiagnostic/Sleep Technology may be substituted for 2 years of experience
Polysomnographic Technician II:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate's Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and Registered as RPSGT with North Carolina Medical Board.
- 3 to 6 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist
Polysomnographic Technician III:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate's Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and Registered as RPSGT with North Carolina Medical Board.
- 6 to 10 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
Polysomnographic Technician IV:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or Associate's Degree in Polysomnography (Sleep Technology) is required.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and Registered as RPSGT with North Carolina Medical Board.
- 10 or more years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- Minimum of One Additional Certification:
- Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH)-Pediatric Sleep Certificate-Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T)
Other Information - Primary Shift: PRN (as needed)
- Night shift; 12-hour shifts
- On Call: Yes
- Weekends: Yes
