Location: Rockwall,TX, USA
The Pool Manager supervises operations, related maintenance, aquatics programs, special events and aquatic personnel of the designated aquatic facilities. In addition, the Pool Manager will work cohesively with the Recreation Superintendent to develop strategies leading to the accomplishment of division goals. The Pool Manager reports directly to the Athletics and Aquatics Supervisor.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Ensures the safety of the facility users by following state and local safety regulations.
* Responsible for collection of fees, preparation of bank deposits and departmental records and reports, including payroll.
* Regulates and monitors water chemistry in the pool; maintains chemical inventory; and maintains equipment and supplies.
* Supervises the maintenance and operation of the aquatic facilities by working with Parks Division and outside vendors through the Recreation Superintendent.
* Conducts weekly in-service training; evaluates and gives instruction to lifeguards; organizes opportunities for staff to regularly practice CPR skills.
* Promotes public relations with facility users and organizations.
* Incumbent must enforce safety guidelines that are consistent with departmental policies.
* Oversees daily operations of Learn-to-Swim program and staff.
* Coordinates participant registration.
* Cleans/clears debris and refuse from City property regularly.
* Cleans restrooms on City property regularly.
* Must work special events as assigned.
* May drive city vehicles and/or operate motorized equipment.
* Required to report for work punctually, work all scheduled hours, and any required overtime as deemed necessary. Must maintain a physical condition and standards necessary for the proper performance of duties, with or without accommodation.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Possess a High school diploma or GED.
* Previous experience working in an aquatic setting is required
* Three (3) months supervisory experience preferred.
* Be able to demonstrate management abilities and must possess current certification in CPR and First Aid.
* Requires effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, ability to deal effectively with the public and possess an outstanding customer service attitude.
* LGI, LG, WSI, WSIT Preferred.
* Must have a current valid Texas driver's license and have a good driving record.
Knowledge skills and abilities
* Working knowledge of aquatic activities, life guarding, CPR and first aid.
* Knowledge of supervisor responsibilities.
* Knowledge of water rescue methods.
* Knowledge of swimming pool operations to include: sanitation, maintenance and safety.
* Must have the ability to courteously and firmly interact with pool patrons.
* Ability to consistently demonstrate endurance and rescue skills.
* Ability and skill in carrying out water rescues.
* Ability to consistently demonstrate speed and accuracy.
* Ability to use a calculator and do basic math functions.
* Ability to drive a vehicle and/or operate motorized equipment.
* Ability to lead other employees.

Physical Requirements:
* Tasks are essentially sedentary, with occasional walking, bending, light lifting, or other restricted physical activities.
* Tasks involve some physical effort, i.e., some standing and walking, or frequent light lifting (10-15 lbs.); or minimal dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs, or body in the operation of shop or office equipment; may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
* Tasks may involve frequent walking, standing; some lifting and carrying of moderate weight (100 lbs.); and/or the operation of vehicles, office, shop, or hand tools in which manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination are important ingredients of safe and/or productive operations.
