FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION OF UNIT: Under the supervision of the immediate supervisor Pool Paraprofessionals are responsible for swimming pool operation, safety, and supervision of the students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: § Understands and applies the rules and regulations in the swimming pool area. § Assists with evaluation of environmental hazards. § Uses lifesaving equipment professionally and safely. § Assists with bather and crowd control. § Implements the pool safety plan in case of emergencies. § Dresses appropriately and professionally in pool area. § Assists with direct supervision of all bathers in providing a safe environment. § Records daily pool attendance for Health Department records. OTHER FUNCTIONS: § Responsible for preparing the Physical Plant for instruction. § Performs other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: § High School Education Diploma or G.E.D preferred § Valid Life Guard License § Valid CPR Certification § Valid AED Certification § One year experience with children (preferred)
