Status Full TimeLead Instructors serve as the Regional Maintenance Center Enterprise Project Team Position Specific Subject Matter Expert. As such they lead the delivery of workforce development Specific courses with respect to developed curriculum. Lead Instructors are expected to adapt instructional strategies to meet student needs using a variety of instructional strategies to meet different learning styles. Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors in support of port engineering for regional maintenance centers (RMCs). Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and training. When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for courses supporting present and future courses development of the port engineering courses. Responsibilities:
- Provides dynamic teaching & training as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of U.S. Navy
- Conducts dynamic assessment of the abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.
- Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.
- Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis provides formal feedback and recommendation for Course improvement.
- Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.
- Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
- Maintains records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years relevant professional experience performing port engineer duties
Demonstrated Experience in the following areas:
- Delivering Classroom Instruction
- Navy Surface Ship Repair, Modernization
- COMUSFLTFORCOM INST 4790.3
- Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM)
- Navy Maintenance Database (NMD);
- NAVSEA Contracting Policy/Strategy
- Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) Project Team Roles/ Responsibilities
- NAVSEA Standard Items (NSI)
Security Requirement:
- Must currently possess Secret Security clearance, Interim clearances are not Acceptable.
DESIRED Education:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience
