This role is responsible for managing Supply Chain Operations from remote locations to the customer destinations. The Port Operations Specialist executes domestic and international Transportation Functions throughout the Logistics Network and provides reporting to management for all necessary functions of the Supply Chain. Role Responsibilities include:
  • Participate in New Carrier Development, Logistics Network Design.
  • Receive, manipulate, and transmit master files/tenders to assigned Carriers daily.
  • Dispatch outbound warehouse shipments with the TMS Software using Flatbed, Dry Van, Intermodal, LTL, Ocean Container Drayage, and Rail.
  • Monitor and evaluate Carrier participation in Routing Guide for all dispatched loads.
  • Evaluate Transportation Modes and continue monitoring Supply Chain effectiveness. Participate in.
  • Maintain firm visibility and inventory of all damaged and/or returned products in assigned facilities
  • Provide Monthly Reporting for all Logistics Processes including costs and performance measures.
  • Provide recommendations for transportation planning considering costs, volumes, lane density, project needs, service levels, and other requirements.
  • Analyze data populated from Transportation Software to minimize costs while executing supply chain efficiency.
  • Track Shipments and report any Supply Chain issues to Sales Department.
  • Railcar Management - waybilling, ordering, supply monitoring, demurrage tracking, fleet assessments.
  • Analyze freight costs for the purpose of updating SAP Freight Tables for Sales.
  • Monitor actual loaded weights of equipment to maximize payload and reduce costs.
  • Knowledge of US Customs and Trade Policies.
What are we looking for?
  • Knowledgeable:
    • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experienced
    • Experience working with any TMS (Transportation Management System) software
    • Experience in MS Excel software
    • Past experience working with SAP and/or working for a carrier is a PLUS!
  • Effective
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize workflow.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated and flexible.
    • Ability to adapt quickly to change.
  • Collaborative
    • Collaboration is key to Arauco's success. This role requires collaboration with our Transportation, Sales, Planning, and customs & trade teams to be successful.
